About the Journal

Saudi Social Studies Journal (SSSJ) is an electronic Arabic and English Journal publishes from all areas in social science. SSSJ is published under King Saud university rules and conditions, and managed and supervised by the Saudi Social Studies Society (SSSS). SSSJ is fully financed by the SSSS. The journal applies the code of conduct for journal editors, and a member of Committee On Publication Ethics (COPE) http://publicationethics.org/files/Code_of_conduct_for_journal_editors_Mar11.pdf. SSSJ is aiming to be indexed in ISI-Web of science.

Publishing instruction

General Conditions

1. The article must be original, and is not derived or copied from the work of others.
2. The article must not have been published before in any mean of publications.
3. The work should have a substantial contribution to the social science.
4. The article must not be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
5. The article should not exceed 40 pages in length (including references), and have the following outline:

·        Page configuration: The page size should be set to A4 (21cm x 29.7cm). Leave 3 cm from the top and bottom of the page, and 3.0 cm on the right and left margin.

·        Font type: use Times New Roman fonts, 12-point size.

·        Spacing: 1.5-line spacing and paragraph spacing. Leave a blank space of 1.5, 0 pt spacing before and 6 pt spacing after, between the title of each section and the previous/after text. 

·        Indentation: First-line of paragraphs should be 1.25 indented. 

·        Tables, Figures (drawings, graphs, photographs etc.) and annexes should be ready for printing, following the general pattern of the text and on the space in the text designated by the author.

6.     Include abstract that should not exceed 200 words.

7.     Include important keywords.

Article submission

1.     To submit an article, the author needs to sign in through the Saudi Social Studies Journal web site: http://ssss2008.org/research.php 

2.     fill in the application form, and agree to the declaration form.

3.     upload the article in two formats

·        PDF with name of the author.

·        MS Word without the author name on it.

4.     Send them along with completed application form through the Saudi Social Studies Journal web site: http://ssss2008.org/research.php

Article Acceptance process

1.     After submission, the article will be initially reviewed by the editorial committee to ensure that the article meet the publication requirements.

2.     Two reviewers are chosen from the list to peer review the article. A third reviewer is chosen as a backup.

3.     The article is sent to the two chosen experts for their peer review.

4.     The reviewers' recommendations determine whether an article will be:

a.     Accepted, or

b.     Accepted subject to minor changes, or

c.      Accepted subject to resubmission with significant changes, or

d.     Rejected.

5.     For articles which require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised article is acceptable.

6.     After completion of the review process, the journal will notify the author of the final acceptance or rejection to publication.
